Brewer High beat Lawrence 10-2 in the Class B Eastern Maine Semifinal game on Saturday. They're moving on to the Class B Championship game this week. Go Brewer! Reminds me of when my brother, Greg, played for Hampden Academy. With Greg as Captain, his team won the Eastern Maine title in 2003. Greg was named Eastern Maine Player of the Year. I couldn't have been a prouder big sister and certainly was his biggest fan.
The Maine Black Bears split this weekend against Merrimack. Friday night was a disaster (L 6-3), but Saturday was a different story. A 5-1 win keeps Maine alone in third place in Hockey East. Next weekend is the last regular season series, and boy would it be nice to stay in the top 4 and get home ice advantage for the playoffs. Go Blue!
How could I write a post about the love of hockey and not give props to team USA. What a spectacular game tonight! Phenomenal players, from both teams, at their finest. Ryan Miller- an international hero, regardless of the outcome. Congrats to Canada and the U.S. Thanks for reminding the world how amazing hockey is.
